Shri D. Govind, Head of School, has more than 20 years of experience in the field of education, technology and administration. He comes from Hyderabad. He has pursued his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, (UIUC), United States of America (USA) which is among the top technological universities in the world.

A participant of the Indian National Mathematics Olympiad, he holds a B. Tech. degree in Mechanical Engineering, and an M.Tech. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-Delhi).

He has experience of working as a Research Fellow in the National Centre for Supercomputing Applications, Illinois, USA and as an instructor at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign USA, which has widened his perspective on education & research. In collaboration with Autodesk Inc. and UIUC, he was PI for a project work relating to cultivating technological acumen in school students.

During his several years of stay in the US, he worked on various educational, technology & research projects of multiple US organizations. He has also presented technical papers at international conferences. One of his articles made a place among the few selected peer – reviewed research articles that got published in the international publication CRC Press’s book – ‘Integer Programming – Theory & Practice’.

For his extraordinary contribution in the field of education, his name is listed in the Marquis Who’s Who, a 120-year-old organization of America.

He returned to India and associated with Bharat Institutes. Here he worked in various capacities in academics as well as administration. During his 10-year- tenure with Bharat Institute, he taught a variety of subjects to multiple streams of engineering students apart from working on several technological projects and handling responsibilities as Head of the Department.

Shri D. Govind has prepared many students for competitive examinations like SAT, GRE, GMAT, CAT, GATE, IES, and has been guiding students for career development.

Currently, he is working dedicatedly as the Head of the School of Vagdevi Vidyapeeth and is one of the key persons behind the culture and ethos that Vagdevi Vidyapeeth represents and stands for. Keeping up with the changing paradigms and technological advances in the field of education, he has always emphasized taking teaching and learning beyond the classroom and encouraged creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking among teachers and students.

He is well versed with modern pedagogy and educational practices. As a true ‘guru’ he inspires not only the students but teachers also to strive for excellence and realize their full potential with a positive outlook towards life. Under his able leadership, the Vagdevi Vidyapeeth is setting up new benchmarks of excellence in education every year.
